February 2024
CHARGE: SHOPLIFTING
In a recent legal victory, the Marin, Barrett, and Murphy legal team successfully resolved a case involving a Client charged with shoplifting from a local department store. The Client, with no prior record and employed in the tech industry, found herself in a challenging situation that required swift and strategic legal intervention, especially due to her urgent need to travel abroad to see family.
Upon taking on the case, our legal team, led by Attorney Jason Ollman, immediately sprung into action. During the arraignment proceedings, Attorney Ollman effectively presented the client's circumstances and mitigating factors to the Police Prosecutor. Notably, he highlighted the client's lack of prior criminal history, her employment in the tech industry, and the urgent need to travel abroad to see family.
Through skillful negotiation and persuasive advocacy, Attorney Ollman secured an exceptional outcome for the client. The Police Prosecutor agreed to a resolution whereby the client received a $100 Victim Compensation Assessment Fee (VCIF) for a dismissal of the shoplifting charge. This resolution took into account the client's extenuating circumstances.
This case exemplifies our the Marin, Barrett, and Murphy Law Firm's commitment to providing effective legal representation tailored to each client's unique needs and circumstances. We understand the importance of swift and decisive action, especially in cases where our clients' personal and professional lives hang in the balance.
